There are a handful of people whose opinions I respect when it comes to clothing. I’m sure you’re the same way. Sometimes I’ll do an Instagram poll about this or that clothing dilemma, and scroll through who voted which way and pick out those people. Many will validate your clothing purchases, egging you on even when a certain garment is of questionable utility in your wardrobe; those rare few who discern the balance between utility and beauty are a wonderful asset.
One of those people for me has been Kiyoshi Martinez. I originally was introduced to him online via Styleforum and then his Tumblr, The Silentist. He posts on Instagram now under his actual name, and almost always has really good, sensible menswear advice that I value. He now works for a custom clothing company in Chicago called Hall Madden. I was excited to see he is writing more actively again at a new site: Five In Blue. I have no idea what the title means, but his posts are all worth reading.
