Derek @die_workwear gave me a shout out on @myfirstmilpod, talking about how wearing tailoring in places where it’s not the norm (e.g. the majority of office environments) is possible without being too weird. And that’s kind of my whole schtick honestly—finding a way to dress down tailoring so that it doesn’t feel like some form of cosplay in a typical daily environment, but also doesn’t look terrible according to some semblance of good taste as far as the rules of tailored clothing go.
He goes on to say that a big difficulty for men nowadays is the lack of good, knowledgeable sales and shop assistants at reputable local menswear stores. Here in Cincinnati where I live now, one shop that has a good range of tailoring is @trevorfurbaycincinnati. When he and I chatted I lived near Nashville, and would steer everybody there to @haymakersnashville and @oakhall Nashville. In fact I have a whole page of recommended menswear stops in Nashville on my website.
