The Armoury posted a short article laying out some of the problems inherent in trying to assess “quality” in garments. Many of the techniques taught on Internet boards for how to judge whether, say, a jacket is fully canvassed aren’t foolproof. Relying on labels for origin doesn’t really mean what you think it does much of the time.
Their conclusion—the simpler guide on how to judge quality—leaves a lot to be desired, however. At least it did to me. It’s not that I disagree with them, but I do wish they would give some better concrete ways to know what you’re buying.
