Simon Crompton published an article last week about fine Italian shirts,https://www.permanentstyle.com/2021/04/the-italian-handmade-shirt.html examining the various aspects of handwork that many makers do there, and whether those details make the shirt better than machine made shirts.
He addresses more than one detail I’ve personally wondered about and have tried to find answers about. For instance, some say a hand sewn seam is more comfortable—but is that true? Another detail I’ve noticed on my Italian shirts and wondered what the reason for are the misaligned sleeve and body seams at the armhole.
