Since we’re actually experiencing real autumnal weather in middle Tennessee this year, I’ve been able to enjoy those elusive kinds of fall outfits that are the stuff of marketing campaigns: a lightweight cashmere sweater worn under a blazer to add just enough warmth when it’s 58°F outside, or an Oxford shirt with a cashmere-blend sport coat worn with a lightweight scarf for the early morning chill. This season I’ve felt like the designers and retailers I follow have had particularly good showings, and of course there are some perennial favorites that are speaking to me in particular this season. Spier & Mackay has really upped the ante, as I wrote before, but the other shops I love also have really nice showings this season.
Here are some autumnal products I’m really digging and want to be wearing all autumn and winter long.
