Fall is officially here and the great clothes keep hitting retailers’ sites. Below I put together a list of links of things I’m personally digging this season. Some are ones I personally want to buy; others are ones I’m just really into. The weather where I live feels like true fall weather, which makes the dark rinse denim, suede boots and lightweight knits all the more exciting to contemplate.
Sportcoats/Blazers
I’m feeling brown tweeds this season, apparently, because each of these jackets called to me.
However the key piece I’m missing in my wardrobe and am ordering post haste is Natalino’s gray herringbone jacket (they have a matching pair of trousers, but I doubt I’ll get the full suit; you do you however!)
Cream barathea shawl lapel dinner jacket(I have a linen-blend one to wear in summertime but this looks like a superb choice for the rest of the year)

Casual sportcoat alternative
I tried on a Fedeli “Damon” cashmere jacket recently and really liked it. It’s basically a blazer that’s been cut on the short side, with a chopped-down collar and lapel width, meant to stand up instead of fold over. I’ve since learned that maybe this is considered a “Loden style coat.” Fedeli’s version, pictured in navy, is luxe and expensive. I saw Trunk in London has one from Boglioli, too, for less (though I wish it were navy).

Sweaters
Am I crazy for wanting this orange turtleneck from British knitwear company Highlands 2000? Maybe it’s just a natural backlash to having navy-everything (and deciding a few years ago that navy-everything is OK; just embrace it).
Anyway there are a few other styles I’m into as well. I’ve seen those wool polos become super popular the last few years, and have seen them styled really well (layered under tailoring or even just on their own). I also recently got a navy cashmere-blend crewneck sweater from Sartoria Di Lusso and it’s awesome (double check measurements). Also don’t sleep on the shawl collar cardigan.

Trousers/Pants and Jeans
Natalino’s default trouser is single-reverse-pleated, which is pretty timeless (though it tapers down so aggressively, which is a knock against its trend resistance). However he released a flat front model in cotton drill, and the cream pair he has for sale look great. As always I’m 100% committed to ecru/off-white denim, too.
But this season I’m also feeling raw/selvedge denim in a way I haven’t in the last few years. I never stopped wearing them but was emphasizing the white denim much more these past few years. This winter will change that, I think.

Outerwear
Spier & Mackay giant-lapel luxury peacoat (I got a Polo Ralph Lauren peacoat a couple winters ago that I like but these humongous lapels seem like just the ticket for someone like me who’s veering further and further into farce)
Spier & Mackay gray herringbone ulster coat (what is it about gray herringbone that I’m so obsessed with? This looks amazing)
Suede flight jacket (the OG and best is Valstarino, made in Milano; but this looks great for an attractive price, and many a brand has made suede flight jackets)
Gray donegal herringbone balmacaan (more gray herringbonneeeeeeeeee)
Shoes and boots
I’ve written about split toe shoes before, and got a pair last year in polo suede from Gentlemen’s Footwear made by Carmina. Split toe’s are maybe my ideal alternative to longwings/wingtips. The pebble grain pair below by Cobbler Union are outstanding (and I made a little video featuring them about why I like pebble grain second after suede for versatility).
I’m also feeling the Astorflex mocasin-toe chukka boot. Famously, James Bond wore a pair from Drake’s, called the Crosby, in No Time To Die, and as an alternative to plain-toe chukkas I quite like them. I liked how Bond was styled in them in the movie, with a cotton deconstructed suit. Drake’s has theirs made by Astorflex, though in their own colors of suede and last, but for a casual shoe like this I’m fine getting the less-expensive original.

Great wishlist – there’s a lot of similarity with mine :)
Natalino’s jackets are a great value but they have a weird tall collar at the back (at least in the navy wool hopsack model I got). Not sure if the newer models have fixed this. I am torn between the PoW check and the green windowpane (as an alternative to the Cavour). Natalino’s cotton drill trousers are fantastic and for me their fit is probably the best for an OTR – I got two pairs and I’m thinking about getting two more. I’m using the measurements from their trousers to order a couple from Collaro in cavalry twill cotton.
I have a pair of taupe Astorflex Dukeflex and they are very comfortable and versatile.
There’s also a pair of split toe derby shoes on my wishlist for this fall – mine are the JM Weston Walker Half Hunt with rubber sole.
For the navy casual alternative I have my eyes on the Maurizio Baldassari Brenta jacket.
I also got the navy wool hopsack jacket and the collar is fine for me. Totally agree on the cotton drill trousers. Got the sand and the lovat versions. Better cut than the summer flat front models which had too much room in the thighs for me. Still, I will probably make the leg line even slimmer.
Good roundup. I also like pebble grain. In addition to being versatile, it’s quite weather resistant.
