I have a pair of the Billy Reid Ashland pant in olive green that I wear in winter, and they’re outstanding. Truly one of my best-fitting and favorite pair of slim five pocket pants, and they’re a great alternative to jeans. The fabric is a stiff cotton (not sure the weave; it’s not twill, and it’s smooth, has some natural give to it, etc.). I saw that Gilt randomly has some on clearance in cotton-linen. I ordered them a week ago, and they just arrived yesterday.
They’re awesome. They fit slightly roomier in the knee than the green cotton ones I’ve got, which is fine because the fabric has less give to it on account of the linen, and the weave is fairly open, so they’d be more likely to tear if the knee were too slim. But otherwise they fit the same in the top block and upper thigh and hem opening. The fabric is a perfect shade of natural, slightly off-white, with a fantastic texture (sorta like a small-scale hopsack) and a little slubbiness from the linen.
I took my normal vanity size of 34 (which is what I wear in 501’s). Click here to buy the Billy Reid Ashland pant in cotton-linen from Gilt.
