SuitSupply Tailored Pieces I Like For Spring/Summer 2020

I’m not a huge Suit Supply customer—I own one jacket of theirs, a full-canvas model in a blue double breasted configuration—but I do appreciate what kind of value they offer. They use great fabrics, have a wide selection every season, and have an extremely competitive price point.

Anyway, I was perusing their site a couple weeks ago and found several jackets and suits I was really digging. It’s interesting, I’ve noticed several different makers, both higher-end and lower-end, riffing on the same themes, using similar fabrics, Suit Supply included. I guess that’s the nature of trends. For instance, Drake’s has a tan linen Prince of Wales suit; Spier & Mackay has one; and SuitSupply has two, one in SB jacket form, one as a DB suit.

Obviously they just ran their unusually timed outlet sale, so buying anything full price right now might not appeal to many, but their product is a good value without the additional outlet discount, so if any of these styles appeal to you, I’d not hesitate at all. Check my picks below.

DB navy traveler jacket. I love the large lapels, which are the same size and shape as those on my lighter blue DB jacket.
Single-breasted Tan Prince of Wales linen jacket. A mid-brown or tan jacket in summer is a staple in my opinion—wears really well with white jeans, washed jeans, pale gray trousers and chinos in various colors.
Brown with gray-ish undertones summer suit. This is a nice alternative to the more yellow-ish toned brown tobacco linen suits, and it’s a wool/silk/linen blend from E. Thomas, meaning it’s an outstanding fabric.
A double breasted tan prince of wales linen suit, like I mentioned above. Again, those wide lapels I really dig.
This is admittedly a little out there. The jacket on its own is probably what would get the most wear from me, but it is pretty sweet to see such a clearly fall/winter pattern (gun club tweed) adapted as a wool/silk/linen blend for summer, as a full-blown suit.
A navy double breasted blazer with white buttons. It’s wool, so it won’t wrinkle too much, but the white buttons make it a rakish summer choice in my opinion. The lapels aren’t as broad as the navy DB I linked at the top, but depending on your preferences and body type, that can be more wearable in everyday life around non-menswear geeks.
